I’ve been working on a small project lately to use my Sprint 3G/4G mobile hotspot as an external GPS for my Android tablet. I have a Transformer Prime, and as many people know already, it has horrible GPS signal due to it’s metal casing.

The application connects to the device on port 5502 and gathers NMEA data and then provides a mock GPS service for Google Maps to use. (More on this device…)
