Fucking Brighthouse

So I’m at work as usual, on break, and trying to VPN home to check a few things. Yet again Brighthouse and their shitty service is pissing me off. I’m so tired of losing an Internet connect in the middle of the day, during prime time (After 5:00PM til 9:00PM), their shitty DHCP server flooding the network with request packets, and other bullshit that I have to work around.

Quick to take money, and complain if you don’t pay on time, and slow to deliver any news of downtime, or keep the connection stable.

My connection is extremely fast for being in the United States. I hear other countries are up to hundreds of megabits already, I’m currently sitting at thirty, which I don’t mind… If it were stable enough to consider an internet connection.

I know Comcast is not much better, but after dealing with this shit from Brighthouse on a daily basis, I’m about to switch just to not pay Brighthouse.

OpenVPN Setup

Started using OpenVPN at the workplace to connect some remote locations to the central one. Had a few issues at first, but it seems to be coming together.

We have to use a bridge connection on the system, so this site helped quite a bit with some of the settings.
